The assignment

The brief.

Directors Jesse Wellens and James Defina built the video around Snoop Dogg moving through a series of eras, environments, and comic set pieces. The footage needed to become one coherent journey while staying locked to the energy of the track.

Tim edited the narrative and designed sound for the dialogue-led plantation sequence, where the music gives way to a cinematic scene before the video returns to the wider time-travel structure.

What I handled

My role in the finished work.

A direct breakdown of the disciplines and deliverables I handled.

01

Narrative editing

Shaped the classroom, bedroom, time-machine, historical, and multiverse material into a continuous story aligned with the directors' vision and the rhythm of the music.

02

Sound design

Built the dialogue, ambience, and effects for the cinematic historical sequence so it could carry the narrative while the song temporarily dropped away.

Video Editor

A story that moves with the music.

Working with the directors' vision, I connected Snoop's changing characters, eras, and comic set pieces into a continuous journey. The edit balances the track's momentum with room for each scene to land.

Sound Design

Sound that holds the scene.

The dialogue-led cinematic sequence gives the music a pause and the story a different kind of weight. My sound design supports that shift, holding the scene's tension before the video returns to the track.

Creative focus

What gives the work its character.

Multiple worlds, one progression

Transitions and scene order were used to make the jump between distinct sets and eras feel intentional rather than episodic.

A pause inside the track

The dialogue-led sequence created a deliberate tonal shift, with sound design taking over before the edit returned to the music-video structure.

The outcome

Where the work landed.

The completed edit and sound work appear in the released I C Your Bullsh*t music video.
